I am a designer and artist.
My roots are in the fine arts so I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources and skills. In my training as an artist I learned some important practices that I apply to designing; I trust my creative instincts, can communicate through drawing and have a developed sense of composition, form and color. I have a deep interest in the history of art and architecture, which I think brings depth to my design sense. While earning my undergraduate degree I studied in Chicago at the School of the Art Institute. My major was drawing. After finishing my BFA I followed the industry to New York City and had some great experiences working in the Chelsea Gallery district and beginning my design career by designing and project managing original retail displays as well as executing company direction in the fast pace retail environment of Anthropologie Inc.. This provided an opportunity to merge my outside-the-box fine art education with my growing interest in design and construction execution.
I am a native of the Bay Area and find myself back in my beautiful home. Presently I am continuing my professional journey at the office of MBH Architects in Alameda.
